Joy? | Philippians 1:1-2

We are diving into the book of Philippians this fall, and the very first thing Paul wants us to know is this: who you are in Christ is the most important thing about you. Not your circumstances. Not your status. Not what you own.

Paul wrote Philippians from prison, and yet his entire letter is about joy. Not happiness, which depends on what is happening around you, but a supernatural delight in the person, purposes, and people of God.

Grace and peace are not things we manufacture from within. They are gifts from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:2). That is where joy begins.
