Welcome back to Joy Full! In this video, Pastor James continues our journey through Philippians as we dig into Philippians 3:1–11.
In this passage, Paul warns against putting our confidence in our own accomplishments, religious credentials, or efforts to earn God's favor. Even with an impressive resume of his own, Paul considers it all loss compared to the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus his Lord.
As we study this passage, Pastor James helps us follow Paul's argument and understand the difference between pursuing righteousness through our own efforts and receiving the righteousness that comes through faith in Christ. We'll continue putting our Bible study tools and methods into practice as we explore the text and consider what it means to treasure Jesus above everything else.
The Christian life isn't about building an impressive record or proving ourselves worthy before God. It's about knowing Jesus, trusting in His finished work, and finding our greatest treasure in Him. The more we see the surpassing worth of Christ, the more everything else finds its proper place.
Let's keep digging into Philippians together!
